Our 2016 COM Lecture will be given by Nicole Ferrini, the Chief Resilience Officer for the City of El Paso. The vision for the Office of Resilience and Sustainability is to activate the strength and adaptability of our unique and authentic community in order to build prosperity for our people and sustainability for our city in the face of an ever changing future. A key piece of that effort will be to actively and continuously engage and empower the people of El Paso to shape a resilient future for our city. Our presentation will focus on the characteristics of a resilient city based on global best practices applied to local projects. Ms. Ferrini will offer an overview of the work accomplished since our city became part of the 100 Resilient Cities network in 2013 and she will give you a sneak preview of the final Resilience Strategy for El Paso. Attendees will learn about the different ways they can participate in ORS led activities and programs that build quality of life in their neighborhoods and across El Paso. Meet at Westside El Paso Police Department Regional Command Center, Conference Room, 4801 Osborne Drive.
