Peak Fitness Challenge Hike – North Franklin Peak
Hike to the top of the highest peak in the Franklin Mountains State Park at 7,192 feet. This 8-miles, 4- to 6-hours roundtrip has an elevation gain of 2,00 feet. At the top you will have a grand 360° view of our region. See Mexico, the City of El Paso and New Mexico. This is a strenuous/difficult hike. You must be in tip-top shape. Meet at the Tom Mays Unit of the Franklin Mountains State Park. Get directions to starting point at the Ranger Station. Dogs on leashes are welcome. RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED. Please call 915-566-6441 Monday thru Friday from 8 to 4. Please cancel your reservation, if you decide not to attend. Bring 3 liters or more of water, snacks, sturdy hiking shoes/boots, flashlight for darkness in the morning, hiking stick, camera, binoculars and sunscreen. $3 adults, $1 children or use Park Pass.
