Roundhouse Trailhead Trails

DSC04282.JPG

Join the Dean of hiking, Carol Brown and hike the Bolder Dash, Sotol Forest, Rock Shock and Mad Cow Trails. This is a good hike for beginners/intermediates if you know that you can walk 6-7 miles for 3-4 hours over uneven ground. This will be desert foothills hiking with the usual up and downs, but no major mountain climbing.

The event is pet friendly if your dog is trained and socialized. Bring 2-3 liters of water, snacks, and a sack lungh to eat on your return to the Roundhouse. Wear a jacket and sturdy hiking shoes/boots. Bring a mask and social distance.

From the Patriot Freeway take MLK Jr. Blvd exit 31. Go North 2.8 miles on MLK and the trail head will be on your left. There is also a sign that says Bowen Ranch. (MAP)

There is a $5 per person fee or use your Parks Pass. Go online to get your day pass, print it out and place on your dash: https://texasstateparks.reserveamerica.com/checkAccountStatus.do?tti=MyAccount
