Take a moderate 3-miles round-trip hiking tour and become acquainted with the Rio Grande, Chihuahuan Desert uplands, the riparian river area of the northern Mesilla Valley and the beginning of the Jornada del Muerto. Bring at least two quarts of water per person, good hiking shoes, sunscreen and insect repellant. Wear a hat and a long-sleeve shirt.
