Sunday the 1st Aztec Caves Hike – 8:00 am

This is a 1.2 mile trail that is ranked as moderately difficult. We will meet at the Aztec Caves trailhead in the Tom Mays unit.

Saturday the 7th to Sunday the 8th TOF weekend

This is a two day camping workshop the park will put on for El Paso families on their first camping trip. Check availability and make an online reservation at your convenience (texasstateparks.reserveamerica.com) or call (512) 389-8903 and speak to one of our "Texas Outdoor Family" customer service representatives Monday through Friday 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. All reservations must be made by noon on the Thursday prior to the event.

Wednesday the 11th Stroll in the Park – 8:30 am

This is a slow-paced, mid-week expedition. This week we will be enjoying the sights and sounds of the Nature Walk, an easy trail of about 0.75 miles in the Tom Mays unit of Franklin Mountains State Park. We will meet at the nature walk trailhead at 8:30 am.

 

Saturday the 14th to Sunday the 15th TOF weekend

Saturday the 21st Women’s Hike – 8:00 am

We will meet at the W. Cottonwood Springs trailheas and hike up to the spring and back, a total of about 2 miles of moderately difficult trail.

 

Sunday the 22nd Prospect mine tours – 8:00 am, 10:00 am, and 1:00 pm

Come explore the remains of an old mine with a ranger. We will meet at the W. Cottonwood Springs trailhead. This is a short, easy hike.

 

Saturday the 28th the 15th annual Chihuahuan Desert Fiesta – 9:00 am – 4:00 pm

 Join us at Tom Mays Park to celebrate the park’s 40th anniversary, discover the wonders of our mountains, and enjoy educational exhibits, guided hikes, demonstrations, and outdoors activities. Entrance is free on this day!
