Saturday the 9th Trail Maintenance Day

We will help Geoff build the new trail to E. Cottonwood Spring. Bring lots of water and appropriate work clothing. Meet in the parking lot across from the maintenance area at 7:00 am. We will hike up Mundy’s Gap in order to reach the trail. Everyone is welcome to join!

Sunday the 10th Cactus Rescue

This is the last cactus rescue opportunity; they will already be in the process of leveling the construction zone. We will meet in the parking lot by the maintenance area at 7:00 am and work on removing some of the cactus from the visitor center site that we did not get to on our previous removal days. I am also hoping to get some of the smaller ocotillos out also. If they have leveled too much of the ground already, we will plant the last couple cacti. Bring water, sturdy shoes, and thick gloves (welding gloves work best). All are welcome!

Friday the 15th Ground Breaking Ceremony Set-up

The Ground Breaking Ceremony for the new Visitor Center will take place at noon, but we will need to set up tents and chairs. We will do this at 8:00 am to avoid the heat of the day. All are welcome to help.

This hike will begin at 8:00 pm at the end loop. We will hike Upper Sunset trail, a 2.6 mile hike that is ranked as easy+ in difficulty. Please bring a flashlight with a red-light setting. A blacklight/UV light would also be good to have.
