December

Saturday the 1st Peak Fitness Hike to North Franklin Peak Strenuous Trail

We will meet at the W. Cottonwood Springs trailhead at 7:00am. The hike will be 8 miles round trip of very strenuous trail.

 

Sunday the 2nd Schaeffer Shuffle Hike

We will meet at the end loop at 8:30 am. This hike is about 2.6 miles round trip and is ranked moderately difficult.

 

Friday the 14th Moms + Tots hike

A hike geared towards moms with young kids. We will meet at the Aztec Caves trailhead in Tom Mays at 9:00 am and hike to the caves. Moderately difficult

 

Wednesday the 19th Deck the Halls!

Empty space on your tree? Need a few last minute gifts? Learn how Native Americans in this area used some of our native plants while you make unique Christmas ornaments for you or a friend. Event in Tom Mays unit from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.

 

Friday the 21st Campfire and Christmas Stories

Stories have always been a part of our traditions. Join the Park Rangers for a relaxed evening of sharing hot cocoa and some of the stories that have become a part of our Christmas Season. Campfire building program will begin at five followed by cocoa and stories at 6:00 pm. Event in Tom Mays unit.

 

Saturday the 22nd Santa Hike

Santa needs to get in shape for his big day! Dig up your best Santa suit and join us for an easy hike around the Nature Walk trail in the Tom Mays unit. Santa hats required! Be sure to wear comfortable shoes and dress for the weather. We will meet at the Nature Walk trailhead at 10:00 am.

 

Friday the 28th Tin Mine Tour

We will meet at Chuck Heinrich Park at 8:00 am. This is a 6 mile hike that is ranked at a moderate difficulty.
