Indian Uses of the Chihuahuan Desert

Explore the El Paso Museum of Archaeology grounds focusing on prehistoric and historic Indian uses of the native plants of our area. Learn how the ancient people used bedrock milling features to process food. Check out the Indian Garden to see what’s ready for harvest and notice how the arroyos flowing across the museum grounds are part of the mountain/desert ecosystem and provided food in the form of the tepary bean. Meet inside of the museum at 4301 Transmountain Road. Free tour, parking and museum admission. For more information, contact Marilyn Guida, mrg52muse@elp.rr.com
